Why would my friends like me? I'm not that special...

What benefit do you, a college student with loans out of your ears, have to offer anyone else? You're a really new christian, you make gigantic mistakes all the time and are therefore unworthy of responsibility and leadership. Plus, your not really that funny, people just laugh to make you feel better. And people don't really enjoy your company, they are trying to use you to get to something bigger, better and worthwhile.

WHAAAAAAAT???? That is dumb. NO ONE should believe that.

First off, if that's true, the people that I'm friends with aren't good people. They are bloodsucking hooligans that deserve to be lonely. I don't make friends with hooligans. As Corey would say "I rebuke that."

So, Why the heck to so many people (including myself) think stupid thoughts like these all the time? I think its because we are waiting for our friends to fail us. I think that secretly, we expect them to leave eventually, and we want to cut them off before they cut us off. We want to hurt less than they do.

That's a bleak existence. Being constantly surrounded by people who will fail you sooner or later, never knowing if you can trust anyone... never being able to relax, and just say whatever.... always having surface level relationships. It sucks, and its not worth it. We should just believe that all our friends are for us, and when evidence comes against that, we should TALK TO OUR FRIEND ABOUT IT.

So, in short. Why do my friends like me? Because for some reason, they think i'm special. And the short amount of time that they have on earth, they want to spend some of it with me. I'de be a fool to refuse that because they haven't called me all week to hang out.

And.... I just decided that i'm gonna end my blogs w/ quotes.

"Confrontation will always expose your false assumptions."

Soli Deo Gloria
